Got a call from someone pretending to be my oldest kid, saying their phone was busted and that I should use the new number. They said they needed a favour, of course, it was about money. Sent me their bank info and wanted £758 by 1 pm to cover some urgent bills. I humoured them for a bit but soon told them to jog on.

Got a WhatsApp message supposedly from my kid, saying their phone was broken and asking me to delete their old number. We ended up chatting quite a bit, and it slowly came out that they needed a bank transfer to cover some bills. Definitely a scam, so I reported and blocked the number.

Got a WhatsApp from someone claiming to be my eldest kid, said their old phone was busted and this was their new number. No name given. When I sounded them out, they stuck to being my eldest. Then they asked if I was free. I replied, “Carol, what do you need?” Next thing, they wanted cash for bills. I just blocked and reported the number.
