They tried to scam me by demanding payments, but couldn’t provide any paperwork or an email address for proof. Felt really dodgy to me.

Someone popped into our workplace saying they were from HMRC, saying we had outstanding PAYE dues. The amount they mentioned was way off from what we actually owe. They insisted on getting into my laptop and bank details to sort the payment straight away. Luckily, my daughter's dog was around and wouldn’t let them inside. They left a phone number and an account for me to send the money to, telling me to ring once I’d paid or they'd be back later this week. Really looking forward to their next visit! :)

This bloke actually showed up at my door rather than just ringing me. I foolishly said I was the person he was after. He was really impolite and started sharing loads of wrong and quite private information without even checking who I was - could’ve been anyone answering! I told him I wasn’t ready to chat and that I’d sort it out by calling HMRC on my own.

I’ve got a feeling this fraudster might be grabbing HMRC letters from the mailboxes over at 1 or 2 Venture Road, Southampton Science Park. Seems like they’re using the details from those letters to try and con local businesses.

I got a call from someone who sounded Irish and said they were from HMRC. They were trying to get me to set up a direct debit, but I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a letter pushed through my letterbox from HMRC, or so it said, with this mobile number on it. The note was asking for a massive VAT payment, something like over £69,000. The letter was printed on glossy paper but looked like a dodgy photocopy, the HMRC logo was all blurry. They threatened to come back and seize stuff for auction if I didn’t pay. It was signed by [EDITED]. I've seen this scam before, so no way am I falling for it.

Like someone mentioned earlier, these people are definitely scammers. They ring up claiming you have unpaid PAYE or some sort of tax due.
