2 yearsI'm rather uncertain about the authenticity of this call. The individual claimed to be representing the Royal Bank of Scotland, knew my name, and started discussing a new savings account. When they inquired about my use of internet banking, I confirmed, but I was wise enough not to divulge any personal information-never too cautious with these sorts of things! They didn’t probe with any intrusive questions, and I simply concluded the conversation by saying I’d think it over. Subsequently, I've gone ahead and blocked the number as a precaution. I’m perpetually sceptical when it comes to phone calls from banks. Just thought I’d share my experience in case it could be helpful to anyone else pondering whether this might be a con.
