They called me twice, very closely together, +44 7815 780093. As I don’t know anyone in Scotland, I didn’t answer it. I won’t answer unknown numbers; I adhere to the sensible rule of thumb that: A. I didn't call that number. B. I didn't email and request any calls from that number. C. If I am not expecting any NHS doctor's or hospital calls (not that they ever call for their pre-booked appointments anyway!), I am just not going to answer it as I am not that desperate to talk to some strange person, possibly in a foreign boiler room somewhere around the world, pretending to be one of my “utility suppliers” or something else, or claiming I will lose a limb if I don’t buy some useless piece of junk that I don’t want or need, nor am I stupid enough to fall for their intended scam! This approach works very well for me and my elderly mum, who immediately after my dad passed away filled in the registrar's “Tell Us Once” form. Before she even got home from the 18-minute drive, she was hit with a barrage of strange phone numbers and callers saying sorry to hear of his passing, offering to change all Dad’s “insurances/policies/subscriptions etc.” into her name to prevent her from any prosecution! (All of it fake and just scare tactics by sick individuals trying to scam her into buying non-existent policies in her name, so she wouldn't get fined or be in big trouble with the government!) So be warned: the Tell Us Once form sells your data to scam artists and opportunists, preying on recently bereaved family members! For those caught by them, please know that no widower/widow can be legally held or bound by any contracts signed within the first six months of their husband or wife's death. Use this law to regain your losses; keep a log of any numbers and give them to a relative who is tech-savvy to unleash hellfire on the scum that duped your family member. I tracked one back to his webcam, where he sat on a hot day in his shorts with a female toddler on his lap! Fortunately, I only scared the pants off him-not his shorts (awful image!)-and made him pay back every penny; otherwise, the screen grab I took of him with the female toddler in his lap would go viral among his colleagues and elsewhere! Needless to say, he paid it all back! Then I had child predator cybercrimes and social services sent in!
