I got a call from someone who already had my full name and address, then they asked for my date of birth, saying it was needed for data protection. I didn’t want to give it and they kept pushing, saying things like “It’s just a number, why won’t you share it?” They said I was owed over £3000 in PPI compensation. I told them if they knew the amount, then surely they must already have my DOB since they’d have to check my details to find that out. After that, the caller, speaking with a foreign accent, just hung up. Total scam for sure - I already claimed all my PPI years ago.
