Got a call telling me my PPI claim was successful, they wanted my birthday and bank info. I just ended the call straight away.

Got two calls, one day apart to the minute. The person’s speaking was clearly Asian. My missus picked up first and they were asking for me by name. She passed the phone over to me and mentioned it sounded like a call centre, then they just cut the call off.

This number has rung me a few times now. Every time I pick up, the bloke is chatting away in some foreign language, and there’s a noticeable delay too, so I’m guessing it’s an international call? Sometimes they just drop the call, but other times they say they’re from some sort of benefits office. Seems really suspicious to me.

Got a call from someone claiming I’m owed £1900 from PPI, even knew my name. Offered to send a cheque or do a bank transfer. Sounds like one of those scams from India or Pakistan. Watch out, it’s dodgy!

About 20 minutes ago, I got a call from this number, and it freaked me out since the person on the phone knew my name! They claimed to be from a UK benefits office, but I just ended the call straight away. The voice sounded foreign, though it might’ve been a thick Irish or Scottish accent. Definitely should’ve stuck to my rule about not picking up unknown mobile numbers! I’ve flagged it as dangerous because this caller said they were from a different agency than what I’ve seen in other reviews!

Had a call from someone saying I’ve got a £1300 PPI claim waiting, but I don’t remember anything about it. When I told them there’s no claim, he asked if he could donate it to charity instead. I said fine, but I’d only confirm my details if it was sent through in writing. That’s when he started getting all annoyed and rude.

Today, I got called three times by someone who said his name was John. He had a weird accent and sounded like he was talking from a call centre. I told them I wasn’t interested. Surely, a proper company wouldn’t be phoning a mobile like this!

This number kept ringing me at all sorts of random times, day and night. I kept missing the calls and when I finally decided to ring back, I got a message saying ‘the number you have dialled cannot be found, please verify and try again’. Sounds like a marketing scam to me, so I just blocked it altogether.

So, this ppi scammer rings up asking for your bank details so they can "send your refund". Total dodgy stuff, be careful!
