Got a call from a man named Eric, claiming to be from BT OpenReach about my internet. I told him everything seemed fine, including the speed. He then said it wasn’t about that, but apparently the engineers had been working nearby and spotted a security breach. I wasn’t keen on chatting and said I’d call BT myself if needed. That’s when he got a bit flustered and insisted, “Mrs …, we are BT, no need to call anyone else.” He even threatened to disconnect my internet. I hung up straight away. Definitely a risky scam to watch out for!
