Somebody called pretending to be from Microsoft, saying hackers were watching my computer and that I needed to check the Event Viewer for errors. They really wanted me to open it up so they could “see” the problems. I told them I already had a script that could wipe those errors anytime I wanted, which was true. They quickly ended the call, probably realising I wasn't clueless and that they were trying to scam me. I’m pretty sure their next move was to try and get remote access to my machine.
