Just got a call from a number beginning with 078, but I've already blocked any calls from that prefix since I don't recognise anyone with numbers like that. If your phone has a blocking feature, definitely add 078 to the list of blocked area codes. Most calls from these seem to be scams pretending to be from HMRC, DWP, banks, Visa, or Amazon. From my experience, numbers starting with 003, 004, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 0177, 018, 019, 020, 028, 029, 033, 073, 074, 075, 077, 078, and 079 tend to be dodgy or scam calls more often than not. So be careful!

I got a call from 07808061124 but I’ve blocked all numbers beginning with 078 because I don’t know anyone with those digits. For anyone using call blockers, maybe add 078 to the list of blocked area codes. This number smells like one of those scams - could be pretending to be from HMRC, the DWP, a bank, visa, or even Amazon. I’ve noticed that numbers starting with 003, 004, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 0177, 018, 019, 020, 028, 029, 033, 073, 074, 075, 077, 078 and 079 are often dodgy. Most of these seem like scam calls to me.
