I got a voicemail saying it was Amazon calling, telling me they'd be charging my account some money for ongoing service. They said if I didn’t want that, I could press 1 to talk to someone. I just ended the call straight away because it felt dodgy and like a scam.

Today I got this voicemsg from a woman with an American twang, claiming to be from Amazon. She said they were gonna take money outta my bank account. I didn’t bother sticking around to catch the full spiel. Heard elsewhere it’s a phishing scam that’s been floating about since last October. Whatever you do, avoid pressing 1 - they say it connects you to a ‘manager’ but it’s really a premium rate number and will cost you loads.
