I reckon it's one of those spam calls since the moment I hung up, I started getting more calls but from a different fake number.

I used to be with H. MRC and honestly, we never called from mobiles or hid our numbers. If we did call back, it was only when someone asked for their password, which they’d already been given previously. Every call was logged and recorded with a date. I’ve already reported this so-called HMRC caller to gov.uk/phishing since it was obviously a scam.

I got a call with this robot voice saying something like "Your letter sent to HMRC has been returned, legal steps will follow soon, press one to talk to an agent." I just ended the call straight away.

Got a missed call from this number early in the morning, but my phone flagged it as suspicious and blocked it straight away. Pretty sure it’s just another scammer ringin’.
