I got a call from someone claiming to be the FSCS, but it felt a bit off.

Got a call about some kind of insurance and they mentioned a PPI payout, sounded a bit dodgy to me. Anyone else had something like this pop up? Seems like they’re mixing insurance deals with PPI claims which feels off. Watch out!

Avoid this number at all costs - it’s some con artist attempting to trick you into looking into a fake accident they claim you were involved in. They’ll ask for a tenner as a “setup” fee to start the “investigation”. Once you hand over your info along with your security code, get ready for your bank to be emptied faster than you can blink. These “overseas” scammers are well organised and skilled at moving cash without leaving a trail, so don’t be taken in by their nonsense, especially around the holidays... Got a call today from a woman with an Indian accent asking me about a car crash. I explained that my number is blocked and unlisted now, so these random calls are just harassment, and I warned her I'd take legal action if they kept bothering me. They claimed I’d been in a no-fault accident, which is totally not true. I’ve blocked the number and filed a complaint with the TPS.
