From the very outset, I had my reservations about this call. It was rather odd, getting a job proposal from a company I had never heard of before. What raised my eyebrows was how much they seemed to know about me. Naturally, I inquired about how they obtained my number and discovered my job role. They claimed to have sourced my details from a recruitment agency but rather conveniently couldn’t disclose which one. When I pressed them for the name of the company that provided my information, they mentioned that their manager could give me that detail, should I wish to speak to them. I agreed, keen to hear what this manager had to say, yet they simply refused to transfer my call. Instead, they offered to send over the info and pressed on about this peculiar job opportunity, which turned out to be mere WhatsApp work for just 15 minutes a day. It didn’t take long for them to start probing for personal details, like my age. That's when I decided enough was enough and promptly hung up. The call quality was atrocious, and their command of English left much to be desired. They really came across more like a dodgy telemarketer rather than a legitimate recruitment professional.
