Honestly, this was the strangest message I’ve ever gotten. It started off sounding totally normal, saying something like: "[My full name], if you haven’t booked your first COVID jab yet, please get in touch with your regular GP or vaccination centre." But then, out of nowhere, there was a TikTok link included at the end??? I’m too wary to tap it in case it’s dodgy, but the first bit really seemed like an official NHS message. Showed up as 'Doctor - Heart of Hounslow', but Im almost 300 miles away and ive never lived anywhere near Hounslow. The link was to a sketchy YouTube page about local health stuff which seems off cause real info is usually on government sites or your actual doctors practice site, and with that far away it’s hardly local anyway. Seems dodgy to me.

I’ve been getting texts from this number claiming to be about NHS stuff and appointment bookings. The latest one said to ring up to sort a covid 19 jab appointment. But when I phoned, they told me they aren’t booking for anyone under 80 yet. The info was pretty mixed up and the clinic number they used was for a place more than 100 miles away from where I live.

I reckon this NHS number is likely being faked by some dodgy scammers. Rule number one to keep safe from these tech-savvy fraudsters is to never, ever share your details with cold callers, no matter how trustworthy they sound. And definitely don’t agree to any offers! Thats how these overseas gangs make their loads of cash. If you’re unsure, just write down what they ask for and ring your doctor’s office yourself once you’ve made sure the line is clear.

These people are just after your private info and bank details. Don’t ever give out any personal stuff!! They asked me for my full name, birthdate and who provides my utilities. I was silly and told them everything. A few days later, the scammers rang again, pretending to be from my gas company!! They said they’d got a better deal for me. It sounded so legit because they knew loads about me!! I was about to pay them a bit over the phone, but then I recalled the first call and told them to hang on!!! The Indian bloke got really angry after that! Be careful out there!

I guess it’s possible scammers might use this number, but after a quick search and seeing it seemed linked to the NHS, I rang my Doctor’s office. They told me the text was genuine and they now require my consent to keep messaging me. (The mix-up probably comes from the fact the message shows your NAME but doesn’t say where it’s actually sent from). If you’re unsure, best to call your Doctor first before responding to any texts.

Called the number back but no answer. Sent a text too, but no reply at all. I’ve applied to two jobs right now and both said it’s not from them.
