I got a call from an automated voice saying it was Barclays, warning me about a dodgy payment of £xxx and telling me to press 1 to stop it. It caught my attention straight away since I do make monthly payments. But I knew it was a con because I'd already had two calls earlier that day, and one of those numbers was already blocked on my phone. Now I've got another to add to the list. It’s so simple to trick people who aren’t great with tech - I just logged into my bank app (with my VPN switched on) to double-check, and nothing suspicious had happened.
