I got this recorded call saying my National Insurance Number was being used fraudulently and that I could lose my property. It told me to press 1 to speak to an officer but as soon as I did, the call ended. I called back once more and a woman answered, claiming it was a mistake because it was going to her extension. She wasn’t a proper official though, just asked a few questions then hung up. This has happened three times now from different numbers. I’ve reported it all to HMRC but just a heads up, they never call or leave recorded messages! Don’t give out any info, it’s really risky.
