Got a dodgy call the other day trying to convince my old dad to check out solar panels for a supposed service deal that doesn’t even exist. Luckily, I managed to answer before he got caught up in it. Turns out, the panels actually belong to his landlords, the housing association nearby. Definitely a scam trying to fool him.

I got calls from this number, turns out it’s linked to the head of Alternative Eco Solutions, a firm into solar panels and stuff. They do random cold calls from a different line, offering free home health checks. If you’ve had any issues with them, this number pops up, usually with the manager calling. He’s quite pushy and won’t let up easily, trying hard to sell their expensive warranty. Considering the company’s only been around for four years, I wouldn’t trust a decade-long warranty that costs a bomb. Wouldn’t recommend splashing out that much.
