I received a pre-recorded call from someone purporting to be from the fraud department, stating that my debit card had supposedly been utilised to the tune of £300 overseas. They instructed me to press 1 if I recognised the transaction, or 2 if it wasn’t me. Naturally, I opted for 2 and probed them for details regarding which bank they represented. They flatly refused to divulge that information and seemed quite perturbed when I declined to share my name. I pointed out that there wasn't even that sum in my account to begin with, at which point she asked how much I did have. Long story short, I revealed absolutely nothing, and she ended the conversation by telling me I had no cause for concern before hanging up.
