Picked up a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from Consumers at Home. They already had my name and address which seemed a bit off. Said it would only take a minute, but the call dragged on for more than five, so I hung up. They asked about my age bracket, if I owned my home, how old my washing machine is, which newspapers I usually get (they seemed especially keen on the Times and Sunday Times), who supplies my phone line, and whether I have life insurance or would be interested if contacted about it. Sounds like a survey possibly done for a life insurance company.

They phoned me three times within one day. I told them I’m on the Telephone Preference Service and they just ended the call. On the last time, I said “must be a noisy call centre you’re working in” and they cut me off straight away!
