I recently got in touch with O2 regarding my impending upgrade. They mentioned that the company I was contacted by doesn't handle upgrades over the phone, only via text message. Oddly enough, I received a call from them the following day. When I mentioned that I understood I could go to the shop for assistance, and asked for clarification on who I was speaking to, the person promptly hung up on me. Quite baffling, really!

However, after reaching out to O2 directly, they confirmed that such calls regarding upgrades are not their protocol; they typically only communicate via text messages. To add to my confusion, the same number rang me again the very next day after I mentioned I would prefer to handle this matter in person at a store. When I confronted the caller with the information I had obtained and asked for her genuine identity, the line went dead. Quite suspicious, to say the least!
