This number rang me, and when I answered, no one spoke at first. Then a robotic voice with an American accent said it was from HMRC, warning me about impending court proceedings if I didn’t act right away. It’s obviously a scam, definitely not how HMRC would get in touch. The whole thing seemed like a trick to frighten you into handing over money by following their fake instructions. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. If this number calls you, don’t answer or pick up, block it instead - it’s a dodgy scam call.
