So I got a call from someone pretending to be a job agent. They told me I was 'too experienced' for the position, which sounded a bit odd. When I asked them what they meant, they said I was 'too senior.' I explained that although I'm older, I wasn’t applying for a senior management job. Then he basically admitted they wanted younger candidates, implying it was about my age. This kind of age discrimination is against the law in the UK under the Equality Act 2010. When I brought it up, he just ended the call abruptly. Ridiculous behaviour.
