Got a call around 11.40 on 19th Nov, some recorded message claiming to be Amazon about Prime membership. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to cancel. I pressed 1 and then the call just dropped. I tried ringing the number back but it just wouldn’t go through. Had a look at my phone bill but nothing suspicious showed up.

Really dodgy scam going on here. After about ten minutes, a bloke with a clear English accent, though Asian, handed me over to a lady who spoke perfect English. She claimed to be from the Government’s unwanted phone number service, saying I’d been getting a lot of international calls (which is true). After chatting for over 5 minutes, she already had my name, address, and phone number. Then she asked for my Visa card details. I told her there’s no way I’d give those out. I said I might be old, but I’m not daft. She just said something like “thanks for your time” and hung up.

Got a call earlier today about my laptop, she asked if I had a pen and paper handy to jot down some details. Told her the only detail she needed to know was that she was a total scammer and to leave me alone. This is the third call like this from different numbers in just three days. What’s the point of TPS at all?

My phone buzzed at 7:46 this mornin, been ringing like that loads last week too. Didn't pick up. If someone rings sayin they're from Microsoft, BT, or any internet company, just like I do, say you’ll fetch the person who uses the internet and then just put the phone down and walk away for like 5 or 10 minutes until they hang up. Normally, they won't bother callin back for a good few weeks after that.
