I picked up the phone and the person on the other end instantly asked, “Can you hear me?” I didn’t just say yes, trying to be cautious. Then he quickly followed up with, “Is this Mr Xxxx?” We went back and forth with me not outright agreeing but confirming I could hear him and seemed to be the right person. After he asked the same questions a few times, I finally asked what it was about and then he just ended the call. Not sure if he was trying to get me to admit something or what his goal was.
