A person rang me pretending to be from Microsoft, saying there was an alert because someone outside the UK had been messing with my internet and I’d just been seeing a black screen. I told them very calmly that my nephew, who runs an IT security firm, already sorted any problems I might have. After I mentioned that, the caller, who didn’t sound local at all, just hung up on me. Strange how that happened!
