Someone called asking for a name that definitely wasn’t mine, then they just dropped the call.

I picked up a call from a UK mobile, and the person on the other end asked for me by name, but they had an odd foreign accent. When I asked who they were and who they wanted, they just hung up. Not sure how this scam exactly works, but seems like they might be spoofing UK numbers to get more people to pick up. Also, just a heads up, check if your mobile number is searchable on Facebook - if it is, then they probably already got your name and maybe even more info!

We received a call from this number today as well. We've never answered it, but when we tried to return the call, we were greeted with a "number not recognised" message. Best to steer clear of it!

Cheers for the info, Zoe! Funnily enough, we received a call from that number about half an hour ago too. We didn't pick up since we weren’t familiar with the digits.
