I got a call from someone saying she was Angela from Barclays, saying it was a courtesy call from my local branch. She then asked me to answer some security questions, starting with my birth date. When I asked what the call was actually about, she just said it was a courtesy call, nothing more. I didn’t share any details, but it did worry me that she already knew my name.

this person rang me saying they was from barclays, doing some kind of check-in. they already called me by my name right away which was a bit odd. they asked if I had any queries or needed help during the covid situation. they also told me to visit the barclays website for more details. I never shared any personal info with them.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from Barclays, said their name but wouldn’t pick up when I tried ringing back a couple of times. I work at Barclays myself and know that staff aren’t supposed to use personal phones to handle any company stuff, so this call definitely seemed dodgy.
