Got a text saying HSBC wanted me to confirm a new payee setup from a device I didn’t know. It asked me to click a link to either approve or cancel it. Didn’t trust it, so I typed HSBC’s official website into my laptop instead of using their link. The site looked really convincing, like HSBC’s online banking, but none of the buttons actually did anything. Sent a screenshot and all the details straight away to HSBC’s phishing email (phishing@hsbc[###]). Definitely a nasty scam!
