This morning, around the 4th of December, I got a text from this number saying I’d been near someone with a confirmed case of something, didn’t say what, and that I needed to order a test via https://pcr-my-order.com. Total con job. I already have the NHS Covid app and it's always notified me first, never a text like this. I didn’t click the link, especially after reading the other reviews.

There’s been a rather dodgy text message scam making the rounds again. Initially, folks received messages claiming they'd been in close proximity to someone who tested positive for Omicron and were urged to arrange a PCR test. Although it was previously shut down, it's now made a comeback under a different web address. These messages, falsely claiming to be from the NHS, contain a link to a suspicious website-originally it was mypcr-test.com, but now it’s popped up as https://pcr-my-order.com. Recipients are being led to believe they can order a test from this link.

I just received a text informing me that I've been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID, and now I need to arrange for a test. Not exactly what I wanted to see after my hospital appointment on Friday. This number seems rather dodgy; after researching it online, I’ve found numerous sources labelling it a scam. I read something about it in the Independent on January 30th - apparently scammers are tweaking the website links just a bit to dodge the blocks they set up. But the message itself?
