Got a message saying my Amazon parcel will arrive on 12/04 anytime between 8 in the morn and 6 in the evening. Says it could take up to 5 working days if I'm in a delayed area. The message also gave a phone number, 01278 764644, if there’re any problems. Thing is, I’m not expecting anything from Amazon at all!

Got a txt from this number claiming Amazon’s launched a 5.2% fixed FSCS protected bond and to ring Credit Suisse promo line on 08000662786 quoting prime61, saying it’s limited availability. Honestly, no legit financial firm would push bonds by cold texting ppl like that. Feels like a proper scam to me. Plus, I’ve heard this number’s been linked to other big companies who aren’t even Amazon or banks. Pretty sure it’s just a dodgy setup trying to rip ppl off.

Got a message from this number saying “your purchase is confirmed: nortonlifelock firewall amt. 499.99 gbp. For details or to cancel, ring (+44) 808 196 4145. Thanks! To opt out reply no sms.” I flagged it as a scam and didn’t touch any links.

Just got a text saying my order for a Cisco ASA firewall worth £4568.99 was confirmed. It included a number to call for more details or to cancel: 44808 196 4145. I've never placed an order like that and I definitely haven't phoned that number. Seems like a scam to me!

I received a phone call from a woman claiming she was in need of professional references for a porter position at the NHS in Bolton. Interestingly, I’ve already been offered the job by the interviewer, so I’m somewhat puzzled. However, this unidentified person on WhatsApp keeps pressing me for personal information about my previous colleagues, including their work email addresses. It strikes me as odd since this has nothing to do with the position I’ve applied for. I strongly advise caution; it seems this individual may be operating under the name Michelle Barber, identifying herself as an admin assistant or volunteer. Be wary!

Today, I got a rather curious message from that same number, this time for a different amount: precisely £318.12 GBP! Quite the coincidence, I must say!

At half past two in the morning, I received a rather dubious text stating, "HMRC has reassessed your financial activities for the year 2016/2017, and it appears you have a balance of £517.83. Please complete this form." Seems a bit fishy, doesn't it? I reckon it’s best to treat this with a healthy dose of caution!
