07786202608 I keep getting texts about my broadband at all hours, even in the middle of the night. Not really sure if it’s genuine, but getting messages at 3am is proper annoying.

This number keeps ringing me incessantly. Seems like it's a call centre of some sort.

I attempted to return a missed call from this number, but all I got was a message saying the number isn’t recognised. Seems like it might be a scam, to be honest.

Using the details on this page I looked up the number on the OpenReach site and it is definitely in their directory. It’s the day before I’m changing my broadband to a new provider, so it doesn’t seem too unusual. I didn’t get any notice from my new provider, Shell Energy, about an engineer coming round - I just figured they’d post the router and I’d set it up myself - so Shell Energy could’ve done a better job letting me know. But for now, it all looks genuine.

The OpenReach website does show this number is theirs, used when they’re setting up lines or switching providers. I was actually waiting for a call from them cause I’m switching my broadband right now, and the date they said matches when the change should happen. Still feels a bit strange how they do it, and plus, numbers can be faked these days.

I reckon it’s a scam, cause my network provider told me the engineer would visit and if I’m not home, they’ll charge me. So why is someone from this number asking for a confirmation now? Best to just ignore it.

They called again today. When I tried calling back, BT said the number was unknown and unrecognised? Im a bit baffled now! If it was Openreach, wouldnt BT have mentioned it? We are still waiting for our fibre upgrade, which was mentioned in the email this morning.

You could easily end up buried under a mountain of debt, while these scammers line their pockets. Honestly, it leaves me feeling as though there’s little left in this world for me to find joy or security in anymore.

It’s what mine did. If you only understood the extent to which they've derailed my existence while masquerading as my supposed "support" (all the while seething inside with rage and biting back laughter) just to further their own agenda, reaping benefits off my misfortune... you truly have no inkling.

Their so-called ‘friends’ seem to be always lurking about, sharing information about my whereabouts, when I’m not at home, and even what I purchase. I wouldn't be surprised if this message gets deleted or flagged by them, as they seem to have an uncanny knack for shutting down any conversation that disrupts their little operation. It’s all deeply unsettling!

If I were to reveal their true identities in everyday life... or rather how they behaved after spending long hours "on air" either on television or radio, you simply wouldn't believe it! We're talking about individuals from BBC Radio 1 or television and the like. It's quite astonishing!

The moment I tried to finish my duties early, he would be in contact with her, claiming I was on my way home, or worse, dragging out my hours under the pretext of offering more work and, of course, more cash. Foolishness at its finest, really. What’s more, they have a keen eye on my online activities. Once, he even insisted that I log into my own account at their office, and I suspect he was keeping a close watch on what I was typing-possibly to snoop around for anything incriminating that he could use against me. It’s infuriating dealing with someone who is not only incredibly dim-witted but has the most unpleasant visage to match. It’s a grim bunch, truly; the lot of them seem to embody the worst of humanity, particularly the ones they seem to cater to.

They could have spent their time more wisely instead of lurking around to see what I’m up to on Netflix. They're also cleverly using the web for other dodgy dealings, like burning CDs and then flogging them at that Poundland shop across the road. Honestly, there’s a whole saga of sneaky behaviour from them. Now that they’ve seen what I’ve posted here, it’s pretty obvious they've blocked the site and shared what they’ve discovered with their mates. I can only anticipate more of their underhanded antics from here. They'll likely attempt to pull off more questionable schemes in my name, armed with all my personal info and any means they can leverage. They’ve already messed me around once, and I’ve got this feeling they’re not done yet.

Yeah, it’s really Openreach automated system ringing to double check appointments, but even after I confirmed it like multiple times, they just keep calling to verify again.

Got a call from 07786202608 saying they were from Openreach, so I checked with my provider. They said no job was booked for my place and that Openreach just informs folks when they’re working nearby. Today I got the same text again, so I replied with ‘cancel’. Less than an hour later, I got a message back from the same number pretending to be my provider saying the order was cancelled as per my request. Feels like a total scam. They’re just trying to get you to upgrade needlessly and tie you into a longer contract. Best to ignore these nonsense messages.

Said they were from Op - sounded like one word at a time, really slow with big gaps in between. The call was pre-recorded, which feels fishy and probably a scam. If it’s actually Openreach, they really need to sort out their technology!

I received a voicemail claiming to be from Amazon, stating that a recent transaction of mine had failed to process. They mentioned they would ring me back to resolve the issue. However, when I attempted to return the call, it was impossible to get through. It’s quite clear to me that this is a scam! 😡

I got a call from 7786202608 claiming to be Openreach thru my provider. I did get a call earlier from my supplier so I figured it was legit. They even gave me a date and a job number from the supplier.

Unlike a lot of people’s comments here, I can’t see this number listed on the OpenReach site. Their website says that any texts should come from the short code 80230. I checked with my phone company and they advised me to just disregard it. They confirmed the engineer is still scheduled to arrive at the time my provider gave me, which interestingly is exactly what the text message said too.

Although the most recent update was in 2021, it appears the scamming has resurfaced. I received a message claiming, "Openreach will come round to enhance your broadband service; please reply to confirm or reschedule." Naturally, I dismissed it as yet another phishing attempt.

I received a phone call purporting to be from Openreach regarding a supposed switch to TalkTalk. The thing is, I’ve got no dealings with TalkTalk whatsoever.

Like some others mentioned, it’s defo an Openreach TalkTalk router. Funny enough, I’ve had it for ages but never actually hooked it up since I’m still using Sky on my other line. The original line has never been connected either. Think I’ll give it a shot though, cos Sky’s service is rubbish, never getting near that 22 meg they claim. When I run speed tests with Ookla, it’s more like 8 to 18 meg max. If this one’s better, I’m chucking Sky out for sure.

They said they’d be doing some free fibre work for our internet provider tomorrow (Monday 6th Feb) and that I should leave the router on by 8am. Problem is, nowadays it’s often easier to spot a scam than actually talk to a real person at your broadband company! Such a pain having to keep double checking all these dodgy calls, like these scammers are just running wild online!!

This number does seem legit. Just be careful and remember scammers might be faking it, so use your judgement.

I rang Talk Talk earlier today about a text I got last night from the number 07786202608, supposedly from Openreach. Yeah, this is a legit Openreach number, I even looked it up on their official site. Talktalk did warn me about the upcoming internet upgrade but they really ought to have said it was from Openreach in their messages.

You don't need to be home. Just a reminder to plug in and power up your router before 8am on activation day so we can get your service running. The router will arrive with instructions, but if you need more help visit [#]vineo[###]/43365733." Problem is I haven't got a new router or any emails about it yet.
