Recently, I’ve received several calls from various mobile numbers all sharing the same pre-recorded message. The caller says it’s a BRP validation and asks to press 1 for English. Then it carries on in other languages, asking you to press different numbers. I usually hang up straight away and block the numbers, as it sounds dodgy to me. I’m a British citizen born and raised here, so I can’t see why anyone like HMRC or any official bod would be verifying my residency rights. Feels a bit off if you ask me.
