After coming back from a trip overseas, I noticed some strange fees on my bill - 50p for each of three texts sent to this number. I’m with Talktalk too, and I’m definitely going to raise this issue with them.

While I was overseas, I spotted a strange "Roaming Outbound" fee linked to 07785 011 324. It happened just as WhatsApp sent a message to another UK number to add a new contact. If I hadn’t been travelling, I probably wouldn’t have realised. Looking up the number on www.unknownphone.com, I found a note saying it’s likely a relay number used to forward texts from a UK mobile to someone in the US. So, although it’s a bit puzzling, it looks like the charge is actually legit - especially with WhatsApp making it harder to track.

while i was down under in australia, i got a call like this and yep, roaming charges hit me. i usually avoid roaming anyways - why pay for it when mobile data does the job just fine? and funnily enough, my provider’s the one you’d expect… talktalk, if i’m not mistaken. maybe they should have someone look into this!

During my two week stay in St Lucia at the start of January, I ended up paying about 50p each for 40 of these calls. (I wasn’t really meant to be there - had a stroke on a cruise and got rushed to hospital). I quickly blew through my phone plan within just a few days, so couldn’t really make proper use of my phone. Tried getting answers or any refund from TalkTalk but got nowhere with them. Proper frustrating experience.

I noticed that I got billed for 8 roaming texts outside the EU which I definitely never sent. I’m planning to reach out to TalkTalk about this issue and will share what happens next.
