I picked up the phone and there was nothing but silence, then the line just went dead! It's happened more than once now. Really frustrating and could be quite frightening if someone’s feeling vulnerable.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was Mr Chris from BT. He told me there was an issue with my internet and even offered to give me my IP address to prove he was legit. I said no thanks and told him I’d just call BT directly. Then he started saying my internet was about to get disconnected before hanging up on me. Total scam for sure.

So on 18/02/2020, got a call about 8:10 in the morning. A bloke answered just with a "hello", but he couldn’t really hear me when I tried to say hello back. I thought I heard a woman yelling at him from the background. After a bit of trying to get through, he just cut me off. Strange one.

Got two calls from this number today, both times asking for me by name. They claimed to be from BT about some internet issues - definitely a load of rubbish. I told them off pretty harshly and made it clear I wasn’t interested. So annoying! Tried blocking them but that doesn’t seem to stop the calls. Really fed up with this nonsense.

This guy called, said he was with BT and was checking out some dodgy stuff on my internet. He threw out an IP address: 192.168.1.1. I told him that’s not my IP, so he asked me for it and got a bit annoyed when I refused to share it. Then he wanted to know how I even knew that wasn’t right, and I told him I set up my own network. After that, he just ended the call. Proper awkward!

Just as I was trying to figure out what was going on, some bloke saying he was a BT engineer cut in. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Just as it was getting weird, someone else jumped in pretending to be a BT engineer. I didn’t hang about - ended the call and blocked them straight away.

Some bloke called himself Wilson from BT, saying that someone else was using my internet. Asked me to switch on my PC, but I told him no and just ended the call. Definitely sounds dodgy to me.

Some bloke answered as Glynn Wilson, but with an accent that didn’t really add up. He cut me off while I was brushing my teeth, so I gave him a piece of my mind. Still, since a close family member had passed away less than a day before, I quickly grabbed the phone thinking it might be something serious. Ended up being nothing but another dodgy scam call.

Got a bloke on the phone with a thick Asian accent claiming he’s from BT and there’s some problem with my phone line in my area. I played along, pretending to follow his instructions for about 10 minutes - if he’s wasting my time, I’m doing the same to him. Eventually, I got fed up and told him outright, "No thanks, this sounds like a scam." He then told me he was coming over to rip me off or something. I just replied, "Awesome, cheers mate, have a great day!"

I got four calls from different numbers, all had the same automated voice saying I needed to stay on the line to speak with a manager about renewing my Amazon Prime.
