I got a call today, Wednesday 18 July 2024, at 11:12 from this number +44 7783955801. The caller said they were from HM Revenue and Customs and claimed there was an urgent letter from them that needed my immediate attention or I’d face legal trouble. It was an automated voice that asked me to press 1 to speak to someone. Since HMRC wouldn’t just ring me like that, I ended the call without pressing anything. Can someone confirm if this number is linked to a scam?
