Someone rang me saying they were from BT Openreach and told me there was some strange activity on my internet. When I asked how I could check they were legit without just taking their word for it, they told me to google Openreach and call an 0800 number. But when I phoned that number, it was just an automated message giving general info about Openreach, with no way to speak to a real person. So I couldn’t verify who was really calling. Honestly, it seemed like a classic scam to me.
