I got a call from a man claiming to be from National Gateway, saying he could assist with a PPI claim like before. I told him I've never actually made a PPI claim. He just said thanks and hung up. He did use my name though, so I reckon it was a cold call. I was a bit blunt with him, but honestly, I worry about older folks getting calls like that - he sounded quite "friendly", but you can't really trust who’s on the other end, right? I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from a bloke with a Midlands accent, sounded quite polite. He said he was ringing on behalf of HMRC and mentioned something about National Gateway. Interestingly, he admitted right away they were actually a private firm. He already knew stuff like my address, birthday and email. Said he’d send me a form to reclaim tax due to the recent tax rate change. When I told him HMRC advises us to be careful with these calls, he got annoyed - I even heard him swear quietly just before he ended the call.

Got a call today from 0778349765, some bloke with a Liverpool accent. He kept calling me by my first name and was going on about how I supposedly had some money coming to me. Bit weird if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the National Gateway. Could hardly understand him with loads of noise in the background. He said it was regarding an overpayment I supposedly made recently. When I mentioned it seemed like a scam, he kept insisting it wasn’t. Ended up hanging up on him.

They called me like four times and asked for me by my first name. Pretty sure it’s one of those tax scams.

His accent was really hard to make out. He kept talking about HMRC and some kind of refund. Said he needed to verify personal info for PPI or something. When I told him we didn’t have PPI, he just ended the call. Not really sure if it was legit or a scam. Better to be careful with calls like that.
