Somebody pretending to work for BT gave me a ring and started grilling me about my internet upload and download speeds. I got a bit wary when they threw out rubbish figures that didn’t match what’s normal around here. Things got clearer when they asked me to connect my device to a “technician” right then, and I just hung up straight away. When I looked up the number later, it was clearly spoofed - you can hear they’re coming from a call centre, but the number showed up as a mobile. Weird to hear calls from a call centre pretending to be on a mobile line!
