Spoke to someone from Santander’s fraud team on this number, and they were really helpful. Sorted the scam charges quick and got me a new card sorted without any hassle. Definitely legit!

This was definitely Santander. I got a message saying there was some odd activity on my account and to reply by text or phone the number provided. Feeling a bit iffy, I decided to ring the number listed in the banking app, not the one in the message. They told me someone had tried to buy stuff on eBay with my card. They've since blocked my card and are sorting out a refund after spotting another dodgy transaction too.

I just got a message purporting to be from 'Santander', claiming they need to verify some recent transactions linked to my account. Following that, they mentioned I would receive further texts from this mobile number. The message then stated that a payment from my card was rejected, mentioning a company I've never dealt with before. Quite strange, if you ask me!

Fraudulent activity alert!
Monitoring my account for any suspicious transactions.
Fortunately, my bank has managed to block them.

This seems like a rather cleverly orchestrated scam. They attempted to get the OTP for Apple Pay registration, but I had already taken the precaution of blocking my card.

I've received a dodgy call from what claimed to be Santander, pushing for a callback regarding outgoing transactions. It smells like a scam to me! Steer clear and don’t engage with them-just ignore any messages or return calls.

Surprisingly, this number actually belongs to Santander Bank and they use it to notify customers about any strange activity on their accounts. I don’t think it’s right at all, especially with all the scams going around from mobile numbers. I’ve already put in a complaint with them about it.

It's simply astonishing that this number is legitimately employed by Santander to dispatch notifications concerning account activities that they intend customers to question. In light of the rampant fraud these days, I find this utterly intolerable and have raised my concerns with Santander directly. I highly recommend that anyone receiving messages from this number should reach out to Santander beforehand to verify. Why on earth can't they utilise a single, easily identifiable number for all their communications? It would certainly make things a lot easier and safer for everyone!

I recently received a text from a number that’s supposedly associated with Santander for sending out One-Time Passwords (OTPs). The message claimed they needed to “verify recent transactions on my account” and warned me that another message would follow from 07782635983. Lo and behold, the subsequent text instructed me to ring 0808 2802011 - and yes, it mentioned that number twice. Strangely enough, not long after, I got a notification from a service I use about my subscription, which is billed to my debit card, that it would not be auto-renewed. Then, about half an hour later, my phone rang from 0808 2802011. It was a recorded message that eerily repeated my name, asserting they were from Santander’s Banking Security, followed by a three-digit code and urging me to return the call. This is quite a clever scam; it seems the culprits have managed to acquire some of my personal information beforehand, making it all the more concerning.

I had my doubts about this particular number - if you take a look at my earlier report, you'll see what I mean. I couldn't shake the feeling that Santander wouldn’t resort to using a mobile number for their messages. So, I decided to give them a bell at 0800 3134321. After quite a lengthy discussion with a security representative who kindly reviewed my account, I was informed that 07782635983 is indeed a legitimate number employed by them for sending texts. I expressed my discontent, pointing out that it’s quite hard to imagine that any discerning individual would believe that banks communicate through mobile numbers. The representative acknowledged my concerns but affirmed that the texts and calls I received were, in fact, authentic. I’m now preparing to lodge a formal complaint with Santander, as I find this situation to be utterly unacceptable, especially considering the rampant fraud associated with mobile communications.

I received a rather suspicious text apparently from Santander, claiming there was an issue with my account. They urged me to either respond with a 'yes' or 'no' to their inquiry or to ring the number 08082800767. Mind you, this was at one in the morning on a Sunday! I certainly won’t be falling for that trick!

I've received a rather peculiar text from this number, claiming that a payment of £0.4 was made and requiring my approval to process it from my bank account. I'm planning to get in touch with Santander to clarify the situation, but I can’t shake off the feeling that this might actually be genuine.

I received a rather suspicious text from Santander, claiming there was an issue regarding some transactions in my account. It also mentioned that communications from that particular phone number would be reaching out to guide me on how to address the matter. Naturally, I felt quite uneasy about the whole thing and chose to ignore the message. The following day, I decided to give Santander a ring, only to find out that someone had made an unauthorised charge on my credit card across the pond in America. To this day, I’m still in the dark about the owner of that phone number. Fortunately, Santander stepped in, rectified the erroneous transaction, and reimbursed me promptly.
