Some bloke called Jack turned up claiming he was from Thames Water, saying he needed to swap my old water meter for a smart one. I wasn’t home then, so I said no when he rang later. He also said the meter was on the public footpath, which it definitely isn’t. Not sure if he was legit or just winding me up. Told him they ought to send a letter beforehand instead of just showing up out of the blue.
