So my dad got a ring from some bloke who was on about buying or selling shares he claimed dad had, but dad just said he wasn’t bothered and hung up. Then, not long after, about six minutes maybe, the same number called again, but it went to voicemail. The message they left was proper creepy, saying they knew our address and were gonna come over and “massacre us,” telling us to clear out straight away. Really shook us up.

Oops, I mixed it up earlier - the site I meant was GoDaddy, not Big Daddy! Just realised Big Daddy was actually an English wrestler, his real name was Shirley Crabtree. Sorry for the confusion!

I got a call from an Indian lady who acted like she was aware of the shares I owned and was keen on purchasing them at a much higher price than usual. She asked for my email, and that’s when I realised it was surely some kind of scam, so I ended the call straight away.

My elderly mate, who’s 84, got called by some bloke asking for a Michael Aldred. I answered the phone instead and told him he must’ve dialled the wrong number. But no, this guy insisted he hadn’t and then started yelling “bitch” at me like three times! I’m thankful I got the call and not my friend. Seems like this creep had rung up before too. Proper rude person.

Got a call the other day, seemed like the woman claimed to be from Scottish Power at first. But after reading other feedback, I reckon she meant something about S.P. shares, which I sold ages ago. When I brought up TPS, she started swearing at me! I told her I wasn’t having that, said goodbye, and hung up quick. Next thing, she rang straight back, but I just didn’t pick up.

Got a call from an indian guy about stocks or something, clearly a dodgy scam. I said I'd record the call and asked him to give his name and company, plus what exactly he was pitching, saying i'd send it to the police. He got all aggressive and started shouting. Ended the call, but he kept ringing back and leaving messages on my voicemail.

Beware of persistent cold callers claiming to represent old shares! They can be quite impolite, too. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of these individuals. Engaging with them is simply a waste of your precious time. For further information, have a look at the FCA's warning about West Capital Partners.

Got calls from some dodgy lot about old shares, total scammers. They were pretty rude too. Best just to hang up and not bother with them at all. The FCA even put out a warning about West Capital Partners, so watch out!

My dad got a call from this number asking for my mum, who’s been gone for years now. They wanted to buy her shares or something like that. When my dad said she wasn’t around anymore, they told him it was too late, they’d already sold them. He told them he’d speak to his lawyer, and they just hung up. I reckon they were fishing for bank info or something dodgy.

Got a call from someone named Sylvia, but honestly it sounded like a bloke on the phone. She somehow knew I owned some Alphmeric shares, plus my full name, address and landline number. She told me she had a client dealing with a hostile takeover, and claimed my shares had grown from one to five times their previous value. Apparently each share was worth anywhere between £5 and £15. She said she was Swedish but had a Canadian mum, which seemed a bit odd but sounded believable enough.

This was definitely a scam call from some American bloke. When I asked who was calling, he said he was from an equity firm. I hung up quickly. He tried ringing again, but I just let it go to voicemail and they didn’t leave any message.

This is the second time I've picked up calls from this number. A guy with an American accent asked for someone called Sybal. I told him again that there’s no one by that name here and to stop calling. He insisted it was his first call and claimed this person owed him money, even accused me of hiding her. I repeated there’s nobody by that name and then hung up. Just had a look at my call log and noticed they've rung me 10 times over the past fortnight. I only got this phone number recently after moving, so no idea how they got hold of it. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

This number has rung me loads of times but I always just ignored it. Yesterday, though, I picked up but there was dead silence on the other end, so I hung up. Then, right away, they called me back and when I answered, the person started swearing at me, asking why I’d hung up. I told them off and said don’t call this number anymore before hanging up. They rang back instantly but I didn’t bother answering, and moments later they called again, which I ignored too.

Got a call from a woman asking for my husband, said it was about shares or something. I asked her where she was ringing from and she claimed New York. Told her we don't deal with American callers on that sort of thing and just hung up. Felt a bit dodgy so reckon it was a scam.

They’ve rung me three times over the past fortnight claiming their client is eager to purchase my shares to secure a 51% stake in the company. The last caller was polite, so I told him firmly not to contact me again. Their details about me are way off, and honestly, the whole thing felt really dodgy.

I got calls from this number like 17 times in about 17 minutes, kept ringing non stop. When I finally picked up and said nothing, the caller started basically threatening me and saying all sorts of nasty stuff about women. The harassing only stopped once I spoke again and they heard I was a bloke. What a weird experience!

Got a call from an American lady about some share ownership stuff. She seemed a bit confused about the address she had. I didn’t really get into a chat with her, and I’d say it’s best if others just don’t bother either. She called me two times around 2:15pm.

They're still running this scam. My dad got a call about purchasing some old shares, complete with links to dodgy websites. It actually sounded quite believable at first. Luckily, we looked up the number and found out for sure it was all a con.

Today at around 1pm, I got a call where at first there was complete silence from the other side. Then I heard a sort of click followed by about ten seconds of what sounded like a siren noise. I stayed on the line without saying a word, hoping to hear what was next, but after almost a minute of quiet, they just hung up. Reading through other comments, I remembered we also got a call yesterday from a man with an American accent saying he was from Reed Elsevier about shares linked to my late mother-in-law. Looks like we might have fallen for a scam too. Oh dear!

This evening, I got a call from this number but could barely make out what the person was saying. After asking him several times to speak louder, he claimed he was from Aviva plc and accused me of not paying attention. I hung up, but he rang straight back, asking for someone I’d never heard of. My wife answered next and he started accusing her of lying about her identity. I grabbed the phone and told him to piss off before hanging up again. Not long after, he called back and shockingly said, ‘I hope you die tonight you t..t’. I couldn’t help but laugh, which seemed to set him off even more with all sorts of threats about when and how I’d supposedly meet my end!

This was a total scam. I got a call from a woman saying her client was interested in buying a 51% share in a firm I own part of. yeah they been chatting with me, even dropped an email that looks proper legit, especially when you check their website, so glad I looked up the number first coz of the info they gave me. honestly, they're really good at pretending to be the real deal, you’d almost believe them. she’s supposed to ring me back, I've had like four chats with her because my dad asked me to handle it. she’s been on my case every day this week, spinning all this stuff about my dad's shares and how much they might be worth. they emailed me with company info that looked the part, but let’s be honest, nowadays everything looks legit online. it was getting to the point where they were about to name a price for the shares and check if my dad was up for selling. if anyone wants to reach out, here’s my email [email protected]
