I picked up the phone to hear a rather pronounced Indian accent. He started off with a casual, "How are you today?" but when I didn't respond, he bluntly demanded to know why I wasn't talking. I told him I was just holding out for some clarity on the reason for his call. To my surprise, he told me to “bugger off” before hanging up!

Got a call from someone saying he was a freelance debt advisor keen to sort out an IVA for me. Claimed he was from Lancashire. When I asked him basic stuff like his phone number or email, he couldn’t give me a straight answer. Then out of nowhere he told me I was “very stupid” and I was “going to die” before just hanging up. Honestly, what a horrible attitude!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from the fraud team, saying some government lot had handed over my info. He kept asking for me by name and said I owed money, offering help to sort it out. He was quite pushy, but I didn’t share anything and just hung up on him.

Got a call from someone claiming it was about debts I supposedly owed. Thing is, I don't have any! I had just done a free credit report on CLEARSCORE[###] recently, and now it seems like my info might be getting passed to scammers in Pakistan. Proper worried about that.

I got a call from a man speaking with a thick Indian accent claiming to be from some debt collection place, saying I owed them money. I told him straight out that I don’t owe anyone a penny. Then he goes on saying he’ll keep calling me at all hours. When I told him to stop calling, he threatened that I could face prosecution. I asked him how they even got my number, but he refused to say who gave it to them, just said it had been passed around. Ended up ringing the police to check what to do next.

Some bloke with awful English rang me up asking for me by my last name, saying he was calling from the citizens advice bureau. He told me someone had made a complaint about me having unpaid debts. I just laughed and told him I don’t owe a penny to anyone, then asked who supposedly complained. He told me if I don’t owe anything, I had nothing to worry about and then cut me off when I asked how he found my details. Pure scam, really shocked the police aren’t cracking down on this stuff.

Received a rather unsettling call from this number earlier. The caller claimed I owed some money, which I found utterly baffling as I’ve never had any debts at all. Was called by someone claiming to be from the Crime Credit Investigation Unit, saying I had overdue debts. They somehow had my name too. I just told them to get lost and hung up straight away. Definitely a scam, don't fall for it.

Looks like this is a scam from someone in Pakistan. I wouldn’t share any details with them. Just block the number and report them to the Police and Action Fraud, that’s what I did.

Received a rather dubious phone call where the chap claimed a credit report had just appeared on his desk bearing my name. He insisted I must have outstanding debts, asking in disbelief if I owned a credit card. I promptly replied in the negative, and when I inquired about the origin of his call and how he had procured my number, he abruptly terminated the conversation. Best to ignore such calls!

So, resorting to my usual quip, I cheekily said, "If there’s someone just breathing heavily, please commence after the count of three... 1... 2... 3..." After that, I ended the call. The bloke on the other end had a thick African accent and started jabbering on about some unsecured debts, claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau. I thought I’d play along and asked him where he was calling from. His response was silence. I remained quite neutral, but it seemed to infuriate him. He snapped at me, saying, "Why do you keep saying 'oh really'? Just get lost!" Before I could even give a clever reply, he cut the call. Utterly impolite!
