I received a call from an Indian gentleman who claimed to know I had debts, offering me the chance to settle for just 30% of what I owe. I decided to string him along a bit, and he kept probing about my creditors and the amounts involved. I mentioned I had debts with four banks and six credit cards, amounting to a whopping £90,000. Despite my obvious ruse, he didn’t seem to get the hint that I was pulling his leg. Eventually, I laid it out for him, calling him a fraud and part of a scam operation. He hung up the phone sharpish!

Received a rather dubious call claiming that I was under investigation. They were rather persistent, especially noticing I have debts amounting to over 3-4k. As soon as I started to mention my number, I promptly ended the conversation. Best to avoid these sorts of conversations altogether!

The individuals on the other end claimed to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau and inquired whether I had any unpaid debts. I assured them that I didn't, and just like that, they abruptly hung up on me.
