I got a call from this number earlier, and I thought it was sneaky that they used a mobile number instead of one of those 0800 or 0845 numbers because you’re more likely to answer. The man on the other end had an Indian accent and claimed I was on some kind of debt list with loads of unpaid bills. Feels like a bit of a rerun. Just last week, and again about 10 minutes ago, this number called me. A bloke with a strong Asian accent asked for me by name. I didn't say who I was but asked what the call was about. He claimed to be from some sort of credit investigation team, working alongside the Financial Conduct Authority, and said the FCA had alerted them that I was behind on a bunch of credit payments. I told him he had the wrong information and told him to remove my number from his list. Then I politely ended the call.

I told him that wasn’t true and asked who told him that and to send me a letter with details, but he just hung up on me. I really wish I could meet this bloke from Pakistan or wherever he's from face to face. He just went off on my missus with some awful verbal abuse when she politely asked him to take her details off his list. She warned him that if she got any more calls, she'd report it, and his cheeky response was "do whatever you want, you'll get hundreds of calls." I recently received a rather dubious call from some absolute plonkers! The chap on the other end had a rather pronounced Asian accent and claimed he was ringing on behalf of the UK Government. I couldn’t help but question why he was using his mobile for such an official matter! He was putting on a right show to sound legitimate. Considering I have some outstanding debts, it feels like they’ve somehow caught wind of that and are trying to bully me into thinking they can snatch my cash or belongings. It’s infuriating how they prey on folks who are already going through a rough patch! I attempted to ring the number back, only for it to cut off immediately.

I received a rather concerning call today around 1.14 pm from someone with an accent that I believe was Asian. They claimed that our repayments to Provident and Barclays weren't sufficient, and that these companies had lodged a complaint with their agency regarding our payments. The individual insisted that if we didn’t increase our payments, we might expect the bailiffs to pay us a visit. My wife tried to clarify that we had a firm arrangement in place with these lenders and have always adhered to our agreed payment schedule without fail. Despite her explanation, the caller maintained that it didn’t matter and we were still required to pay more, or else face having bailiffs at our door. I told my wife immediately that it felt like a scam, although it understandably left her feeling quite anxious.
