I've been getting loads of calls daily from this number, some bloke from India says I owe money, which I definitely don't. I've told him loads of times to stop or I'd report it, but they just keep ringing. I've blocked that number now, but ever since, they’ve started calling from a different one, 07778051144. Just a heads up to watch out for that number as well.

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was from CAB, saying he wanted to help me sort out some unsecured debts. I told him I didn’t have any and that it’s against the law to pretend to be a legit organisation! He started swearing at me then just dropped the call!

So these people kept ringing me throughout the afternoon, missed a couple of calls from them before deciding to pick up. The bloke on the line had a strong foreign accent and said he was from Trading Standards. Apparently, they got a complaint from my loan company saying I wasn’t paying enough each month. Thing is, I did sort out a payment plan with them because things have been tight financially, but I’m still paying something - seems odd they didn’t try to get in touch themselves. I told him I was at work and couldn’t talk then, and he said something like, “Alright, I’ll send a recording to all your creditors which gives them the green light to send bailiffs.” He even rattled off my creditors’ names pretty accurately. When I said I’d ring them myself, he just repeated the bit about the recording. I told him to ring me back at 6pm and he said okay. That was two days ago, and I haven’t had any more calls since. - caller said to be Trading Standards.

In just two days, I’ve had two calls from these lot. The first one claimed I’d reached out to a cab service because I was struggling with loan repayments. Then another came saying they’d looked into my credit files and found issues. The funny thing is, I don’t owe any money or have loans at all. It’s maddening how these strangers have got my full name and phone number, and honestly, these calls should be banned - such a pain in the neck!

Like loads of others have said, this guy with an Asian accent rang me and already knew my name, claiming he was calling from the Citizen Advice Bureau. I asked what it was about and he started going on about some debts I supposedly owed. I’m not stupid, I know CAB never calls folks like this. Was waiting around for an appointment when this number popped up on my phone. I figured it might be one of those dodgy calls, so I decided to have a bit of fun with the bloke on the other end. Once, I picked up my mobile without checking the caller, and an Asian bloke was on the line asking if I was 'so and so' but he got my name wrong. When I asked who was calling, he just ended the call. These sorts of calls really need to be stopped.

Last night I got a call from some muppets pretending to be from the financial ombudsman. They were pretty cheeky, telling me I had a bad credit score for missing debt payments. I told them that couldn’t be right since I’ve not taken out any loans. Then this joker guessed it might be catalogue debt, and I said nah, don’t think so. I said, “If you’re truly from Data Protection, how did you get my number in the first place?” They responded, “What do you mean, if I’m really from Data Protection?” I told them straight, “If you really are, then explain what this is about or I’m ending the call and blocking the number.” They said, “Then go ahead and hang up, because I’m not actually…” I cut the call and blocked the number immediately lol 😆 total scam. I got a call from someone claiming I'm facing legal action over a debt, but they never said who exactly. When I said I’d just been to Lloyds bank today, the bloke suddenly said it's Lloyds that's taking me to court. I ended up shouting at him before he just hung up on me. Now I can't even ring them back as the number's blocked.

Got a call from some bloke claiming his name was Tom Hanks, said I owed money or something. Told him I didn’t owe a penny, but he kept pushing, asking if I’d ever had accounts with Sky or someone else. I said no, but he just wouldn’t back down, trying to sort out supposed debts. Like I’m gonna hand over my details to some Indian guy pretending to be Tom Hanks! Seriously, who falls for that?

I got a call from an Asian guy with a thick accent that was really hard to make out. He claimed he was from some gov scam and said he could take money from my debit card if it was above a certain sum. Problem is, I don't even have one! Guessing how these lot find our numbers is beyond me. This is the third time I’ve had this kinda suspicious call!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from a govt department, saying they were checking on my unpaid debts. I told them straight away I don’t owe anything, but they got quite edgy and quickly said they must have mixed up the info before hanging up. It made me uneasy, not sure who they really were or how they got my number. So I tried to find out who actually called and found this thread of comments. His voice was kinda hard to catch properly. It was around 1:45pm.

Got a call on my phone from someone claiming to be from CAB, saying I was behind on my loan payments. Thing is, I've never even spoken to CAB, and I don’t have any loans to worry about. Weirdly, they already had my number and even knew my name. How they got all that info is beyond me.

Got a call from a guy who said he was Philip from Citizens Advice. As soon as I said hello, he suddenly switched gears and claimed he was from the Criminal Investigations Unit, saying it was about my debt issues! Complete rubbish! He then asked if I had any loans or credit cards. I just told him, “Why don’t you tell me, since you’re the one who called!” Didn’t share a thing, and he ended up hanging up on me. What a weirdo!

On the 24th of August, just after 2pm, I got a call from someone with a weird foreign accent claiming to be from CAB saying I'd missed some loan payments. Thing is, I've never even reached out to Citizens Advice Bureau, and my loans are all up to date. How on earth did they get hold of my number? And what freaked me out was, they actually knew my name!

About an hour later, my bank gave me a call about some suspicious transactions on my account. Turned out one of them wasn’t legit. I got a call around 7pm on 11/8/15 from some guy saying he was an Asian bloke working for the government or something like that, just kept going on. I didn’t bother listening and just ended the call. Tried ringing back on my mobile but it wouldn’t connect at all. Then I used the landline to call, and this time it was an Asian woman who picked up. Weird situation!
