Got a call from someone claiming to be from a local county conservation group - wouldn’t say their actual company though. They started talking about the insulation in my house, going on about what was wrong with it. I quickly let them know they hadn’t a clue what was actually in my home. They sounded really polite, but it felt like it was just to butter me up and push a sale. I was very clear in telling them to buzz off.

Got a call from a really polite and professional chap today. He was talking about a no-strings free service offer. It was basically a check-up to see if the thermal efficiency is alright and to make sure old materials aren’t breaking down and releasing harmful gases. Managed to sort out an appointment with him.

I got a call about getting quotes for wall insulation under some green homes scheme, mostly aimed at older folks living in trailers. The weird thing is they were ringing before the government even started offering the grants on their official site. Honestly, I worry these elderly people might end up shelling out money when they could get the grant for free.
