I received a rather peculiar call from MBNA, asking us to answer some security questions. We declined their request and were then told that our balance was nil. They seemed completely baffled as to why we had been contacted. To be honest, so were we, as we've never had any interactions with them! Hence, it makes perfect sense that we would have a zero balance, considering we don’t even hold an account with them. Quite odd, if you ask me!

Absolutely, this was MNBA for sure. These individuals seem to be on a mission to trip you up as soon as you ignore their calls from other numbers. They often kick things off with a casual, "Hello, is that *firstname*?" making you question their legitimacy right off the bat. They come across as quite amiable when they telephone this way, spinning their usual tale about how a small payment is preferable to nothing at all! It’s rather odd, but these folk called me thrice within the span of a single minute on this line. I can’t help but think that they must have had a right laugh conversing with our recorded burglar alarm!

It appears we might be dealing with a bit of a dodgy Calling-ID, possibly linked to MBNA or a similar outfit. The message these folks relay prompts you to dial a landline number, which raises a few red flags, if you ask me.
