5 yearsI picked up this number and got an automated message saying my national insurance number was linked to some kind of crime, and I had to press 1 to talk to an officer. I just hung up straight away because it’s obviously a scam trying to sound serious and scare you into doing who knows what to “protect” your national insurance. The government wouldn’t ever tell you personal info problems like that through a recorded message.
