This number keeps ringing me every day. Normally I just let it ring off to voicemail but they never leave a message. I finally answered once and could hear loads of noise like a busy office. After a bit of dead silence, they just hung up. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.

I’m with a firm that deals with some of the largest home improvement businesses here in the UK. You’re right, I would never just hang up if you said no to what we’re offering. I’d say something like, “Alright, sorry for disturbing you, thanks for your time,” and then let you get on with your day. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me who called you, as I’m a bloke, not a woman. I get that we might not be the most popular bunch, but it’s just a job, and I try my best to keep everyone I speak to in a good mood. Really sorry you had a bad experience.

Complete scam, no doubt about it! She rang to ask if I'd got her £500 cheque last week for my house renovations? When I nicely said no, and honestly I wasn’t bothered cos my husband’s a builder, she just hung up on me! If this was legit, I reckon she’d have at least said “Sorry to bother you, thanks for your time” or something like that.

He sounded really polite and clear, said his name was Jordan from the Energy Support Centre and asked if I'd got the vouchers he sent. I couldn't really get any answers from him to prove if he was legit or not. Bit of a scam, maybe?

My sky shield must’ve scared them away. I caught a quick sound - a deep voice with a British accent. They ended the call before I even got through. Definitely some sort of scam trying to take your cash. Real callers wouldn’t just drop the line like that. Best to stay clear of them.

Got a call from this number, no one picked up and left a message on the answerphone. The window replacement scheme finished ages ago, yet these window firms still pretend it’s on to push their stuff. The marketing firms are hired by the window companies just to drum up sales leads however possible. Since the marketing companies aren’t selling directly, it seems like a sneaky way for the window companies to dodge rules from the ICO and the TPS!

Got a call from a bloke with a British accent. He asked if I was Mr xxxxx, and I just said 'maybe'. Then he went on about some £500 home improvement 'cheque' I supposedly got. I told him I wasn’t sure and that I’d pass the message along. Total nonsense. Better avoid it!

Since this is a Vodafone PAYG phone number (and they block you when you try to ring back!), it’s a bit tricky. But give Vodafone’s complaints line a ring and ask them to report it as a nuisance caller. If loads of people do the same, maybe they’ll do something about it sooner or later.

rang me at 10.43 on 28/5/18, which was a bank holiday! They wanted to know if I was Mrs W (I’m not, no idea about any Mr W either). I asked where they got that from. They told me I’d supposedly got £500 for home repairs, but I said I’m just a tenant. Then they said “oh, so that’s not for you”. I was too annoyed to ask who this “we” was, claiming some trusted company was sending money on a holiday. Pretty sure it was a scam.
