Got a call from a really polite bloke with an English accent saying my Toshiba TV insurance had expired. He even used my full name and address, which was pretty creepy. Really makes you wonder who’s out there selling our personal stuff. For the record, I don’t have a Toshiba TV or any kind of TV insurance at all. The authorities really ought to put an end to these scams. Makes you think if they’re actually turning a blind eye or maybe even getting a cut themselves!

A young guy with a British accent rang me up about renewing my TV subscription. I decided to humour him at first. But as soon as I told him to ring back later since I was tied up, he started getting a bit forceful. He kept insisting that if I just gave him my bank info straight away, he could sort out the paperwork immediately. He kept pushing, saying it’d be really quick. Eventually, I just ended the call.

No doubt they were dodgy callers, asking me how old I was and details about my TV and washing machine. I just made up a bunch of nonsense to mess with them. I’m expecting the usual follow-up call trying to get me to renew some insurance on those appliances. They somehow had my address spot on, so they've clearly sourced it from somewhere. Being retired, I find it quite entertaining to string them along without handing over any real or private info. The moment they press for personal stuff, I tell them straight up that I know they’re scammers and hang up.

I got a call from someone talking about renewing my TV insurance. I told them I wasn’t aware I even had any insurance on my TV. Then they went on about it automatically renewed and asked if I wanted to keep it going. Felt a bit dodgy, so I asked which company they were representing. They even guessed I had a Sharp TV, which was odd. But the moment I questioned that, they just hung up on me. Tried ringing back but no luck - phone just rang out and the voicemail was full or something. Don’t give this person any info, they’re definitely up to no good!

The woman sounded like she was from abroad and called herself Samantha, which I found a bit odd since I’m not sure that’s a common name over there in India. She tried to ask me some questions, but I cut her off and told her I don’t deal with unsolicited calls. Then I just ended the call.
